Boom - I love your story - getting traction and selling anything today is just getting harder. I'm launching soon on Kickstarter (2 weeks I hope) and the questions I've been asking myself for months are;

"What problem am I solving?" & "do people care?" So often we have ideas we think are great but does everybody else? I hope this thought helps a few entrepreneurs - I'll post when I go live!!

I've just launched a project that I (and I think many others) have dreamed about since we were young: A working Back To The Future-style self drying jacket. I've been trying for a long time to create it, especially since this is the year 2015, and I finally had my "Eureka!" moment over the summer and laughed like a little kid when I saw that it actually worked.

Love your attitude to this! We're in that mid campaign slump at the moment. The best thing I have read on your post is laying out the budget! We need €15,000 for an iOS and Android app and I think some people may be slightly confused about where that money is going. Looking at your campaign, showing the budget layout is very clear and may use something similar for my own campaign!

I backed your project cause you seem very passionate about what you are doing and I love the idea!

@Falyon, I'm bummed I can't afford your full coat! But I gave what I could to support it. Where are you promoting right now? I see Back to the Future stuff all over social media these days - especially YouTube. I'd comment on every single blog, video, etc. that talks about it to promote your coat! Good luck, my friend.

@ZompireWolf, love the idea, and great work on the video! I think having the budget in there will certainly give you help, but you guys have some work ahead of you if you're going to make that goal....when promoting it on social media, etc. are you trying to get people to go to the Kickstarter page? Or your Huff post, etc. articles?

Going along with the "sharing your story" idea, when I started sending people to the articles about my story - rather than the page itself - I saw a HUGE jump in pledges. Plus it looks WAY less self-promotional, so you can keep promoting it on social media without pissing people off.

Well you certainly sum up the HUGE range of emotions and the overall roller-coaster effect of running a Kickstarter. I'm 20 days in, 30 to go and this experience has consumed my life - and I am NOT naturally a salesperson. I really connect to your point about stopping selling and starting painting a picture/telling a story. Also, giving and being supportive seems hugely important. Though I've supported every one of my friend's crowdfunding ventures, I've never sought out ways in which to be supportive of this community of people until I launched a campaign. Now I feel I'd buy a round of beers for every last person who's ever run a crowdfunding campaign. DRINKS ON ME!!
Anyhow, thankfully I freaking love what I'm pushing out and I think my project could bring so much depth and insight into how adults communicate with kids about important stuff - from kids being bullied to them just feeling "different". Even though my Kickstarter project has only just started a week ago, ive already been getting nervous! But your story gave me hope to keep on pushing and get creative on how to get my passion project funded.

Im glad I found your post. My project is a bit different, as I'm using my campaign to help me donate products. I am REALLY hoping my community is going to come forward. They've sent me amazing supportive messages which is wonderful. This week I should me my project get more backers. I set it low. I can always pass the goal, but not if I dont reach it. Not sure if it was smart but you'll understand more if you check out the project.

I am really in need of some feedback, if you have some time to share. I think my friends will come through more but I need to get the smaller pledge of $10.00 to really help as much as possible.

Would you have any advice on how I can can smaller but more pledges?
