Reach out personally to friends, family, and coworkers. No, not a facebook post or a tweet that you broadcast out to everyone at the same time, but a personal email to each and every person. You will be blown away by how much of an impact this will have on your campaign.

1. Tell people exactly what you want. Just suggesting it is not enough for some people. Come right out and say, "I need your help. Please back me," instead of "I have a cool Kickstarter coming up."
2. Spreading the word is just as important as money.
3. Think ahead after the campaign. Is your product just a one-off run or is it the start of something bigger? Add the continuing costs into your campaign's goal, not just the initial startup funding.

While we all know that the Video is one of the most focused aspects of a funding campaign, it cal also be one of the most expensive. I was able to tap into my network of people and find a recent local college graduate that was trying to launch her video/photography company.
It was a win win, I paid an agreeable fee for here service. I was able to save because she leveraged her contacts still at the University and was able to borrow some equipment (hired a current film student as an assistant) and made it all work.

I've been reading the posts on this forum and its been very helpful! It seems like theres a lot of effort that would have to go into promotion. You can't just hire an marketing company, but rather you have to put the effort into emailing people, going on forums and doing whatever you can on your end to get the word out.

Now I'm a bit worried about our campaign. It seems like my boss may have pulled the trigger a bit too quick on launching the campaign. I'm also wondering if we're asking for too much money?

You need to make people know you want them to PLEDGE on your project and not just share it. We have had brilliant feedback from everyone - and people are sharing our project all over Twitter and Facebook - but they aren't themselves pledging!

We have plenty of time to go, but haven't had the pledges we were expecting in the first few days... Still, we love our project and have hope it may just shine through! Make sure your video is strong and by that I mean not just with your visuals. Captivate the audience with your voice and your confident on camera personality. If you utilize vocal variety you'll be more engaging and unpredictable, which is what will mesmerize your audience. If you breath you'll be more connected to the passion of what you are doing and therefore make it much easier for your audience to connect to you.

Get comfortable on camera so you come across authentic, don't focus on a script. When we get into a script we get into our heads and disconnect from the body and voice and the passion of our project.

Reel the audience in and make it impossible for them to take their eyes of you, their ears of what you are saying. It's not completely about the product, even though that's where the passion is, but the delivery of that passion, that love must come through. It's the voice that can do that, the on camera presence that is strong and confident that can help make the audience believe in what you are believing in.

I've seen the difference in coming alive with voice and on camera and not be deal breakers in many things. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Some really great tips here. Have made a few mistakes that have been warned against but wish I had read this first.
