    @viciousdead - It depends on where you are advertising. If the site is relevant and has a demographic that matches the type of backer that you are going after, then you will see higher conversions than if it's a website that has an audience that is not relevant.

    Great article. I plan on hosting a giveaway and ending it the day my Kickstarter goes live. That way, people are actively checking whether the won or not, and I can direct their attention to backing the game if they didn't win. Has anyone had a good experience using Rafflecopter for their Kickstarter?

    Personal experience from using ads: you need to get targeting right but also the message. If you're looking at building a mailing list before the campaign, make sure they have a reason to sign up (discounts / exclusivity?)

    I've tried experimenting on a budget of a £1.00 a day with different messaging and targetting and its been very useful- most of the conclusions I've come to seem pretty obvious now tbh, but it's forced me to into laser focusing my marketting message and really think about the image and features I want to put forward
