12 Yr Old Step Son and I Introduce Pocket Angelz

    by PocketAngelz » Mon Jun 08, 2015 4:34 pm

Hi everyone, loving the community so far and really excited to be apart of it. A little background about me:

After the events of Sandy Hook my step son and I starting talking about the events and hoping that someone would be watching over the families that were effected that day. Its how we came up with the idea of Pocket Angelz which are small blue, pocket sized Angelz that can be worn on a backpack, necklace, key chain or anything else so that you can have an Angel with you at all times. Most of them are also sports themed as well so they can be fun and cool for kids as well.

We've been working tirelessly on this project and are in the final stages of production. But we've started a Kickstarter Campaign to assist with some of the money that we've already spent on creating these figures.

You can learn more about the Angelz and our project at our Kickstarter link and I would be so thankful if anyone was able to share this campaign and help us get the word out there to help bring in some donations.

    Thank You!

This is a really cool idea. Not a fan of the visual style you went with though. Still, I wish you luck on your campaign.

Hi David, thanks for the reply. I'm still learning as I go so I'm always up for feedback and suggestions. Are you talking about the visual style of the Kickstarter? What would you have done differently?

    Thanks!

With visual style, I was referring to the style you choose for the Pocket Angelz product itself. It's in that weird area between realistic, and cartoony. The face has details in the mouth(lips) and nose feature that lean towards more realistic, and the mix of the anime style eyes clash too much.

I'd have to agree with David on this too.

The "elfish" look is a bit weird and might scare some people but I can see how some people might be attracted to it. I personally don't like it, reminds me of Pixie's and the colours not easy on the eye.

The colour scheme of the blue looks off, it's too light blue in constrast with the brown eyes and white...it really does look strange and wondering what your testers thought about it.

I thought of initially Smurfs means an obscure European/Russian cartoon. Also it reminds me of the toy I used to get from Kinder Eggs.

Finally, where's the tier where I can receive one outright? There's a $25 tier to get one with extra stuff (not sure the appeal of the extra stuff as you're not established yet), but shouldn't there be a $10 tier to actually get the angel?

Last thought, is what do you need the KS campaign for? You've already designed and made the product, it's even in boxes ready to be shipped...
