Would recommend promoting to family/friends before asking strangers to pledge to get it up from 0.

the campaign page looks good but I would definitely suggest getting friends and family onboard to start the funding. I hated doing that for my Kickstarter but I'm re-launching in a week and have 45% funding lined up from friends and family. I didn't want to ask them but it turned out to be a lot easier and hopefully will get my project more noticed. I didn't want to do it the first time because it just felt easier asking a stranger because asking family felt too much like looking for hand outs.

I'd have to echo my colleagues here. It's hardest to start.

The best way to start is with your warm network (people you know). Once there are some backers on board, the project looks more legit.
