I think part of it is about where you have a "hook" for your press release. Arming the service with a story to tell helps- as does timing.

I was working on a previous project and we tried Fundzinger. I was skeptical of their value and we didn't see much of a bump. They did furnish a general PR list- which depending on whether your project deserves coverage on the local news might be more relevant. Overall, I wouldn't use them again.

If you DO use a service to send a PR blast, be sure to ask for metrics. You want to track things like:
    Open, Click, and Bounce rates.

I'm trying CrowdfundingPR. I am really hopeful for how they can help my campaign!

Interesting discussion. I googled and found a *lot* of these companies, but none have emailed me yet. I think I'll steer clear.

have you ever tried "indiegogo sponsor" services? I don't know if it could be useful for my campaign https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/kezi ... /x/2209184

    Great thread — thanks David!

I'm currently running an Indiegogo campaign for my first novel, "I Dreamt of Trees". It's great to hear some first hand experiences of people who have paid for these services.

I would suggest researching any organization before paying them to help you promote your campaign.
Online reviews can be extremely helpful. (Especially ones which the organization in question have responded to—the way a company deals with its customers says a lot about them.)
