Wish I had done more research before taking the plunge. I just signed with Kickstart My Ads. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks to everyone who posted their experiences.

My logic for buying is that its better to have an extra person rowing early on, and the cost is inexpensive to try them out. -Frank

Was wondering on your results, Frank.

According to the kickstarter you created (link above) it was unsuccessful. 44 backers only.

I hope it works out better for you than it did for me. It would be great if you could post the report they send you on this forum so we can help analyse it.

    Cheers

I will definitely share it. I did the basic package that goes to the crowdfunding community. We will see.

I think I would definitely work with someone who said we pay if we get funded, with or without their help. But we only need $3000 to get started, and companies are asking for $600?? Yea, if I HAD that I wouldn't even need to try a Kickstarter!

I keep noticing all these budgets behind KickStarter developers/owners. It's just weird to me to see such accomplished projects asking for help with budgets to boot. In my case I am super broke and really need the help, maybe a new crowd funded project should be started for the super unprivileged. Maybe that'll be my new kick starter! Ha ha ha. Naw, i want to stick with food though. <----- free idea
I have started a new KickStarter project and haven't launched yet. Feedback is appreciated for this pre-launch! FML http://goo.gl/B1acrB.

When you really think about it what these services like Kickstartmyads or Outbrain actually offer is exposure. Either people like your project when they see it or they don't. The question is can you get the exposure they claim to offer without their service. I didn't think I could.

I'd also love to see a list of paid promotion groups/companies that provide good results as well!

Whan I ran my Kickstarter campaign I wanted exposure in the form of actual visitors to my Kickstarter page. I signed up with KickstartmyAds and they did not deliver.
They claimed to have displayed my Ad to over 60,000 people but only 23 clicked on it. I've never hear of clickthrough rates so low. There's not much point 60,000 people seeing my Ad if noone clicks on it and backs my project, Sounds like a scam to me. I felt ripped off. Don't use them!

My advice is to learn how to use the Facebook Ads Manager. That is all the Kickstart My Ads folks do. The Facebook Ads Manager even lets you target certain demographics. Live and learn I guess.
