well, the project I am currently working on (see signature) has been staff pick from day 1, but so far it has not really resulted in much for us... Can it really make that much of a difference?

I'm 24 hours into mine and I got an email informing me of a staff pick just a few hours after launch. If you look at the Staff Pick category, less than half of them have the badge on them. I think that some people just don't include them. I've found that when you explore the different categories, almost all the staff picks are at the top, whether they have the badge or not. I'm back and forth on including the badge since it doesn't mean a whole lot for some projects. It does catch the eye though...hmmm...

Hey & tanks for sharing. Good luck with your campaign, Did they just pick your project or did you email them or contact them in any way to be considered? Thanks, Isaac

    Isaac,
No, I didn't reach out to them at all. I simply tweeted to them "Thank you for approving my project." Mine was approved about 2 hours before I launched it and the staff pick came a few hours later. Have you contacted them or are you already a staff pick? To be honest, I'm a little reserved when it comes to directly asking Kickstarter for a staff pick. Maybe just tweet out a word of thanks for their work and leave it at that. If you do that, I'm sure they'll look at it if they haven't already.

i say include the badge, why not. I think the people that dont may not have access to graphics people or whoever did the original work.

Searching through the staff picks, I see a small minority with the staff pick "logo" on them. I considered it, but did not add one to mine.

I guess my theory was that if Kickstarter told me in the email that I didn't have to add it to my project, then I guess I won't add it. They were generous enough to give me a staff pick, I think I'll do what they say. I'm going to add the badge to the body of my project, but not the thumbnail...

Depending on how much other stuff you have to do, it may not be worth it. Just depends what other community management and PR you're doing.
