    Do the hard work up front and launch strong. You'll get a lot more mileage out of the Kickstarter crowd if you launch strong and are well on your way to your goal the first day.

    Put thought into your rewards and make sure they align in some way to the overarching theme of your project.

    To start my Kickstarter campaign, email was definitely the big winner. Organizing all my old email lists and contacting everyone or anyone who sent me an email recently.

    I was surprised by who sponsored and who didn't. Old friends and contacts came out of the woodwork.
    The response was quite affirming.

    I am now one week into my campaign, 90% funded and pivoting more to social outreach, PR, etc.

    Remember people: FB posts and tweets can get easily lost in the shuffle, especially with how fast people scroll through Newsfeeds now. Emails are direct, and the perfect email pitch can make or break your Kickstarter.

    Thanks this was helpful. I was using email bu I didnt plan how i was to execute I comprised my email on the spot..so planning it is something to consider indeed! Thanks!

    I did send emails to all of contacts -- most individual - some in a group, but I haven't seen any results yet. I'll hope that email does indeed get people sharing and supporting our new project!

    HI , yes , so true email I've read is a real must. I ve been looking at all my emails and made a list.
    I plan to send out a pre press release letter to get everyone in the know and ready. Ill be asking them to email me if they wish to support in anyway, and that ill be sending them an update before it goes live. Also i have a plan to send out the press release to many blogs and ask them if they can make it go live on the monday morning ( form what i heard is a good day to go live )
    Ive already started to tease the social followers on twitter and Facebook , so once I'm ready with content and link ill post to them too. I read that trying to get people back to the link pushes your campaign on the front page. So does anyone know or tried or used someone that can send out back links or traffic back to your campaign link ? H
