Our project is currently on Kickstarter Staff Pick.

How did your project become a Staff Pick? Did you reach out to them? Did they randomly select you?

It would be awesome if you could share with us a little bit what you did in preparation for your launch.

I got a staff pick within an hour. Here's how dumb I am - I thought everyone got one automatically. I got so much spam when I launched, I just figured it was more of the same. Thanks for the heads up.

Now I feel kinda special. Maybe I should do something about it.

Where can I find one of those cool badges, and how do I make it show up on my project?

From what I can tell (and what I did myself) you have to make the badge yourself (or copy one off of the web) and then you have to include it in your title picture yourself. If you follow the link to my page (in my signature) you can see the low budget badge I made up. I can send you a copy of it if you like. People have made cooler ones, but I wanted one that suited my project title picture a little bit better. Let me know if you'd like the badge I made or directions on how to apply it to your title picture (you'll need a program like photoshop, gimp, or even just google draw).

Unfortunately I find that most "STAFF PICKS" are projects that don't need the extra exposure and projects that are already well on their way to making goal or have already passed it.

Just checked and glad you found out how to get the badge. Nice project and thanks for mentioning mine. Only about 7 days to go.

I finally added it. The local paper gave me permission to use one of their photos, so I took the opportunity to add "Staff Pick" to it.

The photo didn't have a great place for the star-style badge, so I tried something a little different. See what you think:
