    Open-source mini-camera on KS

    by bunnycam » Mon Jun 23, 2014 7:28 am

Not too many camera projects on the KS actually, I mean the ones with open-source ethos. So, definitely something interesting to watch here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/20 ... ini-camera

I always wanted a GoPro, but never stopped worrying about dropping it once mounted to my helmet or bike in action. With this board, at least cheap enough to replace. wide-view lenses and night vision are something unique. good for this price. Pledged myself. Love to brainstorm more creative use.

Very interesting. Regarding creative use, could see it used as a combo (drones + skateboarding) to capture cool tricks at difficult angles.

Sbriggman, thanks a lot for your great ideas! Guess it is easy to wear too, I can probably wear a few more and get different angles. LOL

I would like to see a 360 camera using a few of these.

They probably would have raised more money if they actually completed the product. I don't like how they compare it to a GoPro, because the GoPro is user ready. I wonder how big this Lamobo will be by comparison after you add a battery, a decent case, and buttons that make it more user friendly.

Just viewed the Lamobo opensource HD camera kickstarter project video. It's great they achieved their funding goals. My opinion as a mechanical engineer, and to concur with an earlier post is that they may have further superceded their goals had they offered a completed durable housing and integrated battery solution, Both are integral and will affect the final product size and use environment.

Yeah, it seems like tech projects operate under a different standard, where it's truly a success if it's resoundingly overfunded. Does this not seem to be the case?
