So, from my experience crowdfunding software has not been very successful on Kickstarter or Indiegogo relative to other verticals (aside from open source projects or projects by well-known developers).

I think you would see greater success if you used equity crowdfunding to crowdfund a software project like the way that CoFoundersLab did with RockthePost (they raised $155k).

There is this new platform which is currently being in the beta phase, it's called https://donny.fund. It looks like its going to be a crowdfunding for software platform for projects and features.
