I think a rewards review topic would be good in here, as I have too many because part of it is market research, though I may start with 8-9 and add some in as stretch goals. My product is at Prep and Serve dot com - I just don't know if this all shows in search engines so I hate to provide a direct link. Did kickstarter previously and that is one of the top links in searching my name. I'll put more in here when I am within a few days of launch like you. I have been sharing my campaign link for weeks now actually, even though the page was still in construction. The more people know about it before launch the better for me, because when those people receive the live link, it will already be familiar to them.

Why does a campaign like this get approved?
It's a joke! he doesn't need crowdfunding to make a potato salad!

I don't understand why stuff like this gets approved either.
So many hard working people try very hard in this time to present their projects they've worked on for who knows how long,
and then stuff like this comes along.

I feel the same way. It's a kick in the face to those with real talent that is trying to start their lifelong dream!

I think it means Kickstarter has reached it's critical mass. The potatoe salad and the automation process for approving projects indicates that kickstarter is recognizable enough that people can jump on board a frivolous project. Haven't a lot of internet sites followed this same path? A great idea starts to grow, gaining momentum. At some point people start engaging in the idea, not because they recognize it's value, but because other people are doing it. Facebook and Minecraft come to mind.

I both laughed at the audacity and was annoyed that it made that much money at the same time. I think it's one of those things that will probably only work once or twice because of the did it first factor.

I try not to let that kind of thing piss me off though. People are going to get away with what they can get away with. It doesn't stop the great campaigns from being great.

In many ways this campaign has brought a lot of attention to Kickstarter. Some good & some bad. It just proves that media attention can do a lot for a project and a multitude of small dollar backers can quickly make a difference.

Wow, I didn't know about that project until seeing it here. Frankly, it bums me out and makes me want to cancel my project and say forget it. Why would they approve it to launch? It makes Kickstarter look like idiots for allowing some guy to raise $50k as a joke. I also don't think the people who pledge support on a lark are the kind to actually support real creatives.

I pays to be the first one on a trend! Even if that trend is a joke, but yeah... 'critical mass' sums it up. You can now mock Kickstarter while using it to gain money for... well, lunch.
