Curious what other people think about the potato salad campaign and what you think the implications are regarding Kickstarter.

Personally, I think it underscores the viral potential of campaigns, but it's also kind of a kick in the face to real creators who are actually trying to get funds for worthwhile projects.

I guess it will bring more backers to the platform though...

I think like you, more people may now be on there that were not, (along with Reading Rainbow) and that will make it easier to fund the next big thing (mine), though I wish Kickstarter would manage things better with the copy cats. All they would have to do is cancel or suspend any campaigns after one week that have not raised a minimum of $100 or a percentage.
Now it is just flooded with a lot of junk campaigns, and no one needs to raise under $100, or $500 for that matter. If you really can't raise $500 from family, friends or strangers you need to rethink how you are going about the campaign.

I thought the whole thing was funny when I first saw it. Of course it was while I was in the middle of creating my own project. The more I looked at though it started irritating me I guess. Here I am trying to create something to better my life while this guy uses the same tools and makes a joke out of it.

Yea, there are so many copy cats!! It could be a bit of a protest on their looser guidelines also. The copy cats also just mean more competition for other creators and clutters up the feeds.

I saw that campaign on kickstarter and I am surprised to see that it was approved in the first place and I am even more surprised by all the attention and funding it is receiving though. Good for them I hope.

My campaign is going live next Tuesday on Indiegogo, and I hope it will be a success as well.

nicely done - not sure if it happens on your screen, but the type under the first video is all a jumble of live links in very large type, otherwise it all looks good. I really think you could break your handbag rewards down to tiers to give more value as it seems that your bags should not all be the same price and the way they are presented on the runway makes me think you could do 3 tiers of pricing maybe 55 75 95 ? Just a thought - good luck!

I am still struggling a little bit with the perks though. I have bags, sandals, and tshirts. Plus I have 500 bags in stock for the early birds. Technically a good number of perks is 8 to 10 and I have too many already. If I do the tiers then it will complicate things for me even more. But it does make sense to do it though so I will think about this over the weekend.
