Yeah, it's a big issue. Kickstarter should do something to stop backers like this guy. Fortunately, I didn't face guys like this yet, I hope I won't. :/

I've been approached by many promoters. I check them out first before even considering working with them. Hope this is resolved or updated soon. Thanks for the info.

Terrible to hear about this. At worst on the second Auxiliary Magazine campaign, we had a guy pledge two grand then withdraw his backing on the last day. It was as if he wanted to unlock our stretch goals, then have us act on them in advance, then withdraw funding leaving us with about 34% less funds than we were expecting when we were entering the final week.

I've seen a lot of this on campaigns - just backing a $ to see what is only updated to backers but I have never had one pledge that amount. Guess that would be a red flag but also it's hard to read someone who pledges that amount and what the intentions are. Possibly the competition.

As a new kick starter, information like this is truly valuable and much appreciated. I'm sure there are others whose money, intentionally or unintentionally, doesn't get approved, creating a void. This is unfortunate but part of doing business. Even in my own business I received a payment and the payee refuted it even after the merchandise was handed over. Since it was done on a handshake I had no recourse and lost my money and my product. I learned from it. that is what life's about. A journey of experiences. You take the good with them bad.

A very useful forum thread. We are in the middle of our Kickstarter project so I will absolutely keep an eye out.
