Personally, my favorite announcements were the Radiotopia Kickstarter and the campaign to teach kids programming.

I am just getting into podcasting and think it's a great unrecognized medium. I frequently listen to podcasts at the gym and while on public transportation/driving to learn new things!

I think the campaign to teach kids programming is important because it's such a crucial skill that can open up so many doors, even if you just have a basic foundation. I started learning programming when I was in 8th grade and even though I don't consider myself a wizard programmer, it's certainly given me an upper hand in most projects. It's also allowed me to help more people in the world.
