The thing is, it should set off alarms if they contact you + focus on being paid first + then don't follow up promptly on any questions you may have...run away !

Yes, I have heard and they don't deliver their promises and also you will find difficulty in communication.
I had contacted them for promotion of my campaign listed below.

I have received an email from Ryan. I provided an counter offer. Here was the reply:
"Thank you for your offer but the packages are set the way they are for a
    reason.

    Thank you,"

I also received an email from Queen, not as slick as Ryan's. Again, I provided a counter offer. Here was the reply:
"Thank you for your offer but my packages are set up the way they are for a
    reason.

    Thank you,"

Notice anything similar? Is there a quick reply button that I do not see?

We created our first Kickstarter a month ago. We paid $250 to Ryan because he seemed legit. He wasn't. He posted on his Twitter account about our project and sent us screen captures to prove that he was doing something. But his thousands of followers are probably fake accounts because no one interacts with him, no one likes his posts or share them. After sending these images that only proved he did "something", he stopped replying e-mails.

It's a shame I haven't met this forum before. I signed up just to share that yes, CrowdFunding Ninja is still ripping off honest and gullible entrepreneurs that create their first Kickstarter.

They/He reached out to us too. His e-mail does sound genuine and thanks for these messages here, we could see the truth.

I'm glad I read this thread. I was just messaged by this guy and was considering paying for one of his options. The email was very smooth and well written suggesting a personal touch 'not like other marketing services'. Based on the advice here I'll pass.

I am so glad I read these messages because I am on my second Kickstarter campaign for my series Miserably Altered for the second issue, and I keep seeing messages from a lot of people making many promises to help the project succeed.

Hi Everyone, sadly I didn't see this forum before I fell for this scam as well. I'm sorry to read that some of you have been ripped off by him, if that's even his real name. I'm new to Kickstarter and since Ryan West was the first to contact me after launching my campaign, I considered checking out his service. I waited until the end of my second week to see how things were moving along before spending money. It's been a slow run so I decided to go for it. Same stories as all of you have already mentioned. I had questions that were never answered. He sent screenshots with no links. I decided to follow him on Twitter and saw that he did actually post my campaign, but twice on the same day, seconds apart, and nothing on the next day. He sent the screenshot of the second post the next day, as if he had posted it then but I knew otherwise. My post was buried amongst several other Kickstarter campaigns with no target to any particular audience whatsoever. He's clever, but not smart. I sent several emails promising to give him rave reviews if he replied back with answers to my questions and would be just as happy to write a poor review if he didn't. So there you go Ryan West, here's your poor review. I'm just a small fish here, but my 50 bucks was well wasted on you. My campaign is only trying to raise $5000 Canadian, and you couldn't even get me a $1 pledge. I could have paid a friend to make that amount of a pledge for me instead of entrusting my money to a complete and scamming stranger. Thanks for a lesson well learned. Oh and by the way, just to prove you're not legit, my partner sent you a request through your page with his name and email address and MY Kickstarter URL and you replied to his email without realizing it was MY campaign you were already allegedly promoting!!! You are a fake and a fraud in my eyes and I hope people stay away from you like this plague we're all living through. Thanks for wasting my time, hope and money. I'll figure out how to promote my project, 'A Horse Lover's Sketchbook - Let's Draw Horses!" all on my own, even if it has to wait until next time around.

I am also very grateful to find this forum. He also wrote to me and it seemed all too good to be true.

i just joined this form and im sorry to say this but you guys seem like a bunch of idiots and losers. you think $600 is a big loss? go back to flipping burgers then.
XD Jocking aside, I know learning how to market is difficult. But its good to do this stuff yourself first. Then its really easy to know what you get in return.

I personally prefer to handle all promotion myself. Then only hand over cash if I'm hiring an artist or motion designer. Good luck out there.
