They have been gaining momentum in the last few years, with some of the most popular podcasts reaching over 120,000 downloads per episode. According to a post by Pew Research Center:
“The percentage of Americans who have listened to a podcast in the past month has almost doubled since 2008, from 9% to 17% by January of 2015.”
