My fear is that I have materials--bookmarks, business cards, flyers--that I'm afraid people will lose if I pass them out too early in advance. I can also put a lot of tweets and Facebook posts out there, but I'm afraid I'm either going to lose people who forget about the Kickstarter campaign or just rehash the same posts over and over, annoying some people. Like should I make a note every couple days, "Reminder: Kickstarter campaign starting off ________ at _url_"?

Also, how much in advance should I get my material out there?

You can do this same reminder without letting them know you're doing it...

Define the uniqueness of your product/service/concept into several bullet points.

Every other day, you mention just one of the points, coming to KS soon.

"jeff's kitchen has the best food on earth. coming to KS on Sept 37"
"chefs from across the globe love our menu, see you on KS Sept 37"

I'm looking for ways to promote the project before I even get started on the crowdfunding campaign. I think exposure is a key element to a successful project. I need exposure to create the book, exposure to kickstart the publication, and continued exposure after the crowdfunding campaign is complete.

This week I added a page counter to the website, After posting a couple times on reddit I've been receiving a hundred unique hits/day. I have no way to differentiate between bots, hackers, spammers, and real people, I'll have to find a solution to that issue. For now I'm looking for ways to create a broader web presence. What has worked for you?

Can you stick the link in here to your Reddit post? I'd love to see what you put in it.

Being a collaborative book on homesteading, I figured the homesteading subreddit would be the place to put it up. It's nice that the group has 37k members. I was hoping for a couple of hits, perhaps an email about submitting an article. Still hoping for the article inquiry. One comment came in on the indiegogo link I put up, referring to the time I had been on reddit and inferring the gall to be asking for donations. Can't please everyone.

What I want to get from reddit is a bit of exposure. I always use my real name (kpeavey for short). Maybe down the road it will help. If I can get a bunch of hits, Some will glance at the page. If I get a bunch of people glancing at the page, maybe I'll get a good bite. It's a lot like fishing. Cast a wide net, you're gonna catch some fish.

I put up a link on reddit to the Bullshaming page
My site picked up 200 unique hits within an hour, still going.

Make that 2500 unique hits in 16 hours = 63% of all unique hits in a week.
