    Discounts for social sharing?

    by jbreitwieser » Sat Jul 05, 2014 10:00 pm

ChargeAll has a very interesting Indiegogo campaign:

My question is about their marketing and social media integration.

It has a very cool share-function for Facebook/Twitter, where people that share the campaign get a $10 discount.

    Two things:

    1)
Does anyone know if this is a social media module that's specific to Indiegogo or does Kickstarter offer something similar?
Or is this a third-party functionality? Curious to learn how to set something like that up and how they track who shared and how many devices were bought because of that socially shared link?

    2)
Does anyone have thoughts on the approach of offering discount for social media sharing? Is this a good idea for the business, does it drive success of the campaign?

Would very much appreciate your help.
    Many thanks!

    1) To my knowledge, Kickstarter doesn't offer something similar.

See: How to create an indiegogo referral contest: http://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/a ... al-Contest

    2) I think this could be a good idea, but would also be sure to stay within the Kickstarter guidelines: https://www.kickstarter.com/rules/prohibited

This post has some good thoughts: http://stonemaiergames.com/kickstarter- ... -contests/
