I’m a firm believer that small businesses have always been at the forefront of wealth creation throughout history.
Some of my favorite classes in college were about economics. It really ignited a passion inside of me to understand how society works.
As much as I loved these classes, there was a clear disconnect between academia and what was happening in the real world.
In the past, merchants and store owners have been overworked and super stressed. They’ve had to manage a physical storefront, deal with customers, order new products, and get the word out about their location.
While yes, they could hire employees and a staff, their time was closely tied to their business.
The times… they are a-changin’ (cue Bob Dylan music).
Now, you can start an online store, manage it from anywhere in the world, and automate a lot of the systems that go into making everything work seamlessly.
