Request your advice - Great campaign start, then slowed down

    by gobysavvy » Sun Aug 02, 2015 2:02 pm

    Hi guys,

I launched my first KickStarter campaign after preparing for it for over a month. The first day was a big success, we raised about 15% on Day 1. Since then, it's been very slow, and I'm hoping for your advice to get traction moving.

My team and I did everything we could: build a project video and explainer videos, create tons of custom graphics to illustrate the campaign details, test which rewards backers might want, contact bloggers, organize a couple minor press releases, we even tested the name of the campaign and image to find the right one!

The project is to build a tool that can review websites and apps to help creators make their product easy to use and user-friendly. Campaign link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/36 ... endly-tech

So what do you think the problem is? Is anything unclear in the campaign video / description? Is the idea not received well? Are we not marketing correctly? Should be remove or add anything to the story?

Any help is highly appreciated, thank you!

For me I associate an app as something that would be free (or near free). Connecting a mobile app to a website though is complex. If there's a problem with the website then surely I should be using my laptop/computer to see the changes that need to be made - rather via your app?

Fixing things via an app might be complex too though, since it would be via a mobile. I think the idea is great but having an actual website version with an app add-on would be best. I'd love to have my sites reviewed and would pay for it, as I think I trust you guys and your experience...but not sure an app only is the best way forward.

Thanks so much for your advice and review! Actually the "app" is a web Browser tool (chrome plugin), used to analyze websites and web apps. But I updated the naming conventions from "GobySavvy app" to "GobySavvy browser tool" so that anyone with the same confusion as you can better understand. Thank you very much!

Same goes with an indiegogo campaign I launched 5 days ago. I watched your video and I think you have a really solid app. How much did you raise from friends and families and have you done any marketing for your campaign?
