Not a great start... now what?

    by SeedsinaDarkFruitSky » Sun May 03, 2015 11:50 pm

Only 8% in three days - but I know there are many people who are interested in contributing, but they haven't gotten around to it yet.

How do I motivate them to get up and actually press the button?

My project is to publish Haitian short stories - to share Haitian voices with the world.

    Thanks!

I got 12% in 4 days. Don't get discouraged. I learned that sometimes crowdfunding means Bring Your Own Crowd.

    Good luck,
    Tony

Visually, your project page has a crayon quality to it. Your page lacks visual energy, as a result.

Your project video has atrocious audio quality. The dreadful music washes out whatever it is that you are saying. How that combination impacts your project page's ability to persuade people to pledge is likely negative.

You know what? I liked it!

Your text could use some more pictures, but the video was great. It came off warm and genuine, and the way you communicated your budget made me feel like you put a lot of thought into it. I just backed you.

Your project and mine both end on the same minute!

    Good Luck

Well, I checked the project video, again - this time using three different web browsers (Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer). All three attempts yielded music that obscured what the speaker in the video was saying.

Maybe rebooting the computer will help, if it's just a problem specific to me.

Nope. Rebooting the computer made no difference.

Tony's project video, by comparison, sounds just fine.

You might want to have several different people check it for you. If it's just me that's encountering sound issues, then it won't impact you. If it impacts others, also, then it could impact your chances of succeeding.
