Hi, Care to share who you used (PRweb?) and how did you do it?
I think it depends. Perhaps PR's are "old school" with social media being a way to directly contact influencer's. I've run PR's before and only a handful got picked up and gained popularity that way...I think it's about luck really.
My understanding is that it's made public but search engines don't rank them and they fall off the radar. I think editor's do use them, perhaps via RSS feeds...like a flow of information coming through. If they see something they like, they'll write about it and depends what the boss wants them to do.
Whilst if you're targetting a specific editor who you know is interested in your field of work, then makes more sense to put the "feelers" out and see if they will bite on your PR.
