I have started my own KickStarter project here
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/351628487/galactic-123 Galactic 123 will be a RPG (role playing game) for Windows. It is a humble project, nothing otherworldly, and I just wanted to know what is an effective way to be seen by more backers without actually spending more than what I am trying to raise. I have tweeted about this project but I want to know if I am missing out something, if there is any site I should be a member of, etc. Thanks for any insight!
Hey Somenick, Welcome to the forum!
There is actually no need to spend money on crowdfunding, and any amount of funding can be raised without you having to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars. While money can help speed up the crowdfunding process, the substitute for money in crowdfunding is time.
To run a successful crowdfunding campaign you must spend anywhere from a few weeks to several months working on your pre-launch marketing and implementing strategies you have come up with. This can involve building up your social networks, creating an email list, setting up a landing page/website, contacting journalists/bloggers to try to get publicity for launch day, etc.
To answer your question: Is there a way to reach additional backers without spending a lot of cash in online marketing services and such? The answer is YES but it will involve time, patience, and knowledge.
Your campaign does have quite a low funding goal so even without pre-launch marketing you may be able to achieve what you have set out for. Consider doing your own research on how to get your friends and family involved and supporting your endevour, and keep working to bring in additional backers.
If you have any questions for me at this stage, please feel free to reply here, send me a pm, or contact me through my website. All the best with your campaign!
Kind Regards,
Jake
