Hey guys, I was wondering if a press release is really necessary to promote your campaign? I have one prepared but am not sure if I want to pay for it to be released. Any suggestions?

It's not necessary, but if you have limited resources, it can be helpful. How do you plan on marketing your campaign if you don't have a large ad budget?

You also dont need to pay for a press release, just email the blogs/press that you think will be interested in hearing about your product. I imagine that an unfocused paid PR campaign is about as much use as no campaign at all. You need to form a relationship with the journalists or your press release will go straight into the spam folder.
