    How many rewards?

    by messyspace » Thu May 28, 2020 9:46 am

    Hi :)
What is the optimal amount of rewards? I am planning a campaign for a card game and I don't want to make too many of them. Also, what is the optimal price for the highest? I saw people setting it a couple of thousands, but is it a good solution?
    Thanks!

Rewards are a crucial part of any crowdfunding campaign.

The best rewards blend a touch of human psychology and a bit of creativity. Here are the 5 things to keep in mind for the most attractive rewards:
    • 1. Price anchoring – create a high anchor price so everything else looks reasonable
      2. Scarcity – create a limit to supply so people experience FOMO i.e. only 150 available at this price tier
      3. Urgency – create a limit to time so people experience FOMO i.e. get it now or else prices go up!
      4. Paradox of choice – the fewer options we have, the better
      5. No-brainer price – create a price tier that is absolutely irresistible
Consider the following when thinking about the pricing:
    • 1. Product cost – what it actually costs for you to create the product.
      2. Shipping/fulfillment – what it costs to get that product to backers.
      3. Fees – what are the fees to crowdfund
      4. Margins – what margin are you comfortable working with.
      5. MSRP – what is the expected retail price for your product.
      6. Crowdfunding discount – the discounted price for the product.

Somewhere around 10 I'd say, and the pricing obviously depends on how much you're asking for. I think it would be hard to find anyone willing to pay over 500 on one kickstarter, so make sure you have a lot of rewards at low prices, and a few at high ones, because chances are if backers have the money to dish out on unknown kickstarters, they're usually not looking for the rewards. :)
Rewards will only get you so far though, what's important is that people are seeing your content!
