Have you considered that it may not be Kickstarter, but your project, that is dead?

Kickstarter isn't even remotely anywhere near being dead. It's just getting started.

I don't know much about crowd funding, but from what I have learned in the past few days, you have to change things up a bit, provide sources and maybe interview people and put their quotes on the kick starter page. It could also be that people are tired of conspiracy theory stories because it has become a realty and the social norm. Just my thoughts.

We have found it particularly hard to tap into our friends and family as many find it hard to understand the 'donation' side of it. They have been happy to help promote through facebook and all our friends 'like' all of our posts, but not many have put their money where their 'likes' are! I also find it difficult to continually ask people for a pledge.

I would like to see some stats on largely funded (over funded) projects and how they got the word out.

Create a dedicated thread to discussing your project, and I'll give you some brief feedback, if you like.

I think twitter helps by quite a significant amount!
Just go ahead and comment on other peoples work so they know that you don't just want things for yourself, it makes people feel good and it may help you gain more followers!

It really works and its an all around nice thing to do!

    Good luck to you!
