    Crowdfunding today: Investor's perspective

by crowd attorney » Tue Apr 28, 2020 9:38 am

Crowdfunding platforms like other businesses at this time face significant difficulties in sustaining their business activities in several jurisdictions. Although there is no doubt that this Business entails a larger risk than a business that has been capitalized through venture capital or other traditional means of financing, there remain possible legal instruments to protect the investors' legal interests.

Today it has been a subject of public speculation, and several foreign investors have been coming forward with complaints that they might be victims of fraudulent activities concerning the activities of several crowdfunding platforms operated and controlled from Latvia and Latvian nationals. Some of these platforms have been known for their excellent reputation but had a "change of heart" and now might be involved in a series of actions that might be seen as embezzlement. Have you experienced something similar? What are your thoughts in this regard?
