    CPSIA/CE mark for children's product

    by loveyourlingo » Mon Sep 22, 2014 3:29 pm

    Hi everyone
I am currently putting together my kickstarter campaign which is for some children's educational products for teaching languages. One of the products is a set of flashcards.

My question is: Do I need to establish that the flashcards pass CPSIA standards for USA/CE mark for Europe. I have looked into the CE mark a little and it seems, to sell in Europe, I need to have the mark. But does this mean that I also need the mark for the Kickstarter campaign? Or would it suffice to organise the mark for after the campaign when (hopefully) the flashcards will be made available by retailers. Likewise, do I need to organise CPSIA certification for the campaign?

On a side, I am assuming that if I obtain technical data sheets for the materials/processes used during printing that that will suffice for evidence of safety standards. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

    MANY THANKS for ANY ADVICE!

    Una
