I also think crowdfunding is a smarter approach to launch a product as I can have unlimited sales, vs being able to sell only what I have in inventory (it takes about 60 days to produce my product and then a month for it to arrive, so if I had sales more than what I have in inventory, I could not fill the orders for more than 3 months, which people will not accept, But they will for crowdfunding).
So since I don't need the funding to fund orders, I can set the goal to whatever I want it to be . My PRIVATE goal is to exceed $1m, but my public goal could be:
- $50k
$30k
$20k
$15k
$10k, etc.
I understand the goal of getting funded on day one so you can say funded in 24 hours, like Lowkey's post. I have not yet started pre-campaign email capture, although I do have about 1,000 emails already. We will do some Facebook ads with A/B split testing to find out what performs best, and I hope to raise 10k-15k emails before we launch.
My product MSRP is $379, and we will offer a 40% discount, down to $229 for Super Early Bird.
Would greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts on what would be the right dollar amount to set and why.
