    Are ads even worth it?

    by alexissmith » Fri Nov 10, 2017 9:32 am

The CPA is getting out of control on one of my campaigns, I’m barely breaking even. Some days a loss even. Part of me just wants to quit wasting time and resources on the fb ads, but it just seems to be the most reliable way to acquire backers.

And please don’t give me that organic growth BS. I have friends who have done big campaigns and they laugh at that mentality.

Other than PR (we’ve got that well covered in house) - does anyone know anything else that works??

Ads are the best and probably the ONLY way to get more backers. If your cpa is high then you ain't doing it right.

Yes! We are trying this for our campaign too. It has helped build our email list so much.

If you are not getting result from Facebook then use just Instagram. :)

Can you contact Youtube influencers for your campaign?
Not sure what your project is, but maybe that would be a good idea...

I'd say that ads are definitely worth it if you can get them right. My employer Funded Today has worked with nearly 2,000 crowdfunding campaigns so far and, based on all of that experience, we can say confidently that, for most campaigns, there's no more effective way to raise LOTS of money.

But, yes, ads aren't the only method. In our experience with various marketing techniques, their usual order of effectiveness is (1) advertisements, followed by (2) cross-promotions, followed by (3) affiliate marketing, followed by (4) public relations. PR is a wonderfully powerful tool for established businesses but, because its effects on sales are less immediate and/or direct, it doesn't work nearly as well for fleeing crowdfunding campaigns, despite its popularity among campaigners. And cross-promotions, by contrast, are generally both underrated and underused at this time, but we've enjoyed a lot of success arranging them.

Hopefully, that helps you some. If you'd like to hire some professionials to help with all of this, then please feel free to contact us, although I'm guessing that your campaign is probably over by now. But perhaps this information may help some creators in similar circumstances.
I work for Funded Today, which has helped hundreds of crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter and/or Indiegogo to raise over $175,000,000 altogether. How may we help you? Please learn more at www.funded.today and/or www.fundedtodayreviews.com

Alright. That could be. People sometimes ask the same questions or struggle with the same issues or bring up the same concerns in different threads. What would you suggest?
