The Nissan KA24DE engine is a four-cylinder engine produced by Nissan Motor Company. It was first introduced in 1988 as the successor to the Nissan Z engine and was used in a variety of Nissan vehicles, including the 240SX, Altima, and Frontier pickup truck.

The KA24DE engine features an iron block and aluminum head, double overhead camshafts, and multi-point fuel injection. It is known for its durability and reliability, making it a popular choice for both street and race applications.

The engine’s name, “KA,” stands for “K-series engine, A-series block.” The “24” represents the engine displacement of 2.4 liters, and the “DE” stands for “dual overhead camshaft, electronic fuel injection.”

Over the years, the KA24DE engine has undergone a number of changes and improvements. In 1991, Nissan introduced the single-cam KA24E engine, which was less powerful but more fuel-efficient than the KA24DE. In 1998, the KA24DE was updated with a revised cylinder head, increased compression ratio, and improved airflow.
