Hi all... I'm Heather, and for almost 3 years now I've been using marshmallows in my photography... I'm trying to get my 3rd calendar out this year and since it's grown so much I'll be needing to do a bigger print run! Both good and bad, since the out of pocket cost is a bit scary. I do other photography as well, and started the marshmallow series as a way to set myself apart - seems to have worked
I think I've actually had more backers from Europe than the US which surprises me. But very happy to ship my rewards over!
Hey Heather- Welcome to the forum. This is pretty cute. Posting it on my fb. That's interesting about more backers from Europe than the US. Do you use instagram to promote the campaign?

I don't use instagram. At all actually. I can't say I'm a fan of it. I don't take phone pics much unless I need to show someone something via text. I'm using FB, tumblr (http://heatherapplegatephotography.tumblr.com), g+, twitter, my blog, other art forums...
I'm now at 51% backed over the past 4 days... fingers crossed for the last 49%!
Very cool project. I like it You'll get funded in no time. I'll be sure to tweet your project. Me on the other hand, I will probably have to re-launch my project after I figure out what I did wrong. It's looking like it's going to fail. You can check it out, maybe give some feedback http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lum ... tural-ligh
Heather - Congrats on the progress! I would really recommend checking out pinterest and instagram as a promotion medium. You can upload pics from the web on both platforms. Both platforms are all about sharing/re-sharing (so you can reach larger numbers of eyeballs if people like the pictures) and also about generating a list of followers that will receive any promotions you send out or new images you post.
Access to pinboards and hashtags will also expose your images to a wider audience - all in the goal of driving traffic to your campaign and gathering a following that wants to receive more pictures like the one you put out .

I'm no stranger to Pinterest... I have many boards, including one for my photography and have pinned my project to a couple boards with friends repinning for me.
I'm now 60% funded with 18 days to go.
I don't put any of my images out on FB, twitter, and esp Tumblr without my watermark on them at a low res useless for printing... unless I can do that on Instagram, I won't use them.
Resurrecting this post from last year since I just launched a new project for the 2015 calendar. I had such a good outcome last year so figured I'd try again this year... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/20 ... 5-calendar
