I'm lucky enough that my day job and passion is one and the same. I'm writing kids books that teach them about business and how to set themselves up at an early age to be successful in life. My first book should hit kickstarter around the end of march. The book is done but my research into running a successful campaign is not.

    Hello Kickstarter Forum,

I was working in finance for the last 8 years before I left to work on my project full time. My passion project is really to just create anything for myself. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to do just that with our first campaign launched just last week. In less than 5 days, we've managed to surpass the halfway point of our $30k goal!

I hope you guys can check us out and provide any feedback!

Hi All, I'm working as a Sr. Business Analyst with a Pharmaceuticals company but my passion is to help the people affected by Autism & Dementia who wander. I'm building a Global Tracking Device for that purpose. Please visit my website for more information. I will be launching a kickstarter soon!

    Thanks,

    Hey everyone.
I'm Simeon, working as a "filmmaker" and on my way becoming a DoP (Director of Photography).
Even though I don't like the word filmmaker to much because it doesn't really explain what you do on a filmset it is the most precise one to describe what I'm doing right now. I'm working on a bunch of short film and music video projects and do almost everything from directing to editing. But I'm focussing on lighting and shooting them. I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunities coming my way and being able to make a living with what I love doing.

    What is your passion project?
I have quite a few once since they are long term but at the moment I'm focusing on this short film I'm working on with an international team of 18 people from 11 countries so far. The short film is about an musician who runs away to find love, her own voice and finally what she wants from life.

In general I want to tell stories through film. Relevant stories about life and people. Not the mainstream Hollywood stuff but stories that most people wouldn't talk about. Stories like DRIVE, PLACE BEYOND THE PINES, and PERFECT SONG - the last one is the title of the short we a re working on :-)

I also start training for filmmakers mid this year since I want to share my experience for free. I want to enable young filmmaker to tell the stories they want to show the world. And as we all know we rather look at something that looks great. Coming from a very technical background I feel like I can give advice and support other filmmakers on their journey.

I am a web developer/stay at home father/aspiring game designer. Most days it feels like I am mostly doing the second job though. My passion project at the moment is the Kickstarter campaign I am running with my father.

    Hi Sal and everyone.

    Day Job?
I was most recently product manager with a CAD/PLM software company and have worked with many product design companies over the past decade.

    Passion Projects

I want to refocus on areas of STEM, makerspaces and crowdfunding. Right now I'm trying to get a makerspace set up in at a local library as well as doing a lot of STEM volunteer work with FIRST robotics teams. I am getting ready for a non-profit fundraising venture with the new makerspace assuming I an get the rest of the board to agree. I've been a Kickstarter backer for a few years now, and because I'm a Maker/crafter/teacher I'm always thinking about what people need and want.

I've been following CrowdCrux for several months, and still amazed at all the information provided there. I finally decided to join the forum.
