@sbriggman Thanks for the link - what I was hoping for was details on how to make reddit work for a campaign. Not sure if we'll do it yet, but at least we have a good starting place for considering it!

You need to build a reputation and be persistent with it for it to really work. Get involved with your target community (subreddit) before you make a post asking people to support your project.

Also, read the rules of each sub reddit you are going to post in. Quite a few do not allow solicitations/crowdfunding posts.

I found them pretty helpful with product and project feedback, not so much with funding.

Thanks for the advice. I figure any where it's appropriate to request project feedback is still a way to get eyes on the product, and if they get excited, there's nothing stopping them from backing it.

My novel started on Reddit, and they were instrumental in getting the Kickstarter going. It's probably a different route than trying to promote there after the fact, but it really helped having the supporters on board from the beginning. I just hope I meet goal!

Reddit is fun to browse for procrastination. But if you're seriously looking for something on it, then you ought to google search it instead. ^^

Make sure you post to appropriate subreddits only. If you have any doubt at all PM an active member of the subreddit and ask their opinion. By doing so you may save yourself a lot of heartache.

With Reddit, you will want to create a profile aka register with them and validate your email before using them at all. This gives your posts a stronger standing and you can save all of your posts to review later in time as well as delete your posts.

I suggest you shave off your default sub-reddits, and only add the ones you really want for starters! That way, your front page isn't littered with things you may not be interested in seeing. That's step one!
