My name is Evin Charles Anderson. I am an actor, writer, and director living in Boston, MA, US. I just launched a Kickstarter for a film of passion you could say that I would appreciate any advice and support on. It is called Paperthin and is about a Romanian girl who loses a part of herself in Boston through a journal that she has been recording her experiences/personal thoughts in. From the Boston Stage to Feature Film:

How a local play lauched a film

BOSTON - September 12th, 2013 - Brighton independent film company, Waverley Knobs Entertainment, is bringing an international flair to Boston through their independent film, Paperthin. Paperthin is based on the play "An Open Book" by former Boston playwright, Meron Langsner (meronlangsner.com). “An Open Book” was based on Meron's experiences from his time traveling and living abroad in Europe. Fort Point Theatre Channel in Boston (2007), Scotland's The Traverse Theatre's Monday Lizard (1997), and England's Gi60 festival (2013) have all staged readings or performances of “An Open Book,” but it was a spring 2013 performance in Brookline, MA that served as the inspiration for the film Paperthin. Evin Charles Anderson (evincharlesanderson.com), who played the lead male role in the play, wrote the screenplay and is also portraying the lead male role in the film; local crew and talent round out the production.

Paperthin introduces Susana, a Romanian immigrant who has recently moved to Boston. Immersed in a foreign culture and surrounded by strangers, she finds solace in two places: her journal, and her roommate Adam. But when her journal goes missing, she suspects that Adam may have taken it, and soon Susana’s world begins to change, forcing herself to question who she can really trust. Written by Boston resident Evin Charles Anderson, and directed by Salem fiction writer Trent England, this film hits home on current issues of privacy and the potential of late 20-somethings as they struggle to find their place in Boston.

Evin Charles Anderson worked arduously on a version of the piece he created in his mind that could work well within a film medium. While working on the script, Evin pulled in Tatiana Ivan (Director of Photography/Editor), Trent England (Director), Elsa McLaughlin (actress; played Susana in the 2013 “An Open Book”) and Emily Rose Sullivan (1st AD) to form a crew dedicated to the project whose talents would truly make Paperthin jump off of the page. “Many scenes have been changed and general concepts altered to fit the film medium but the heart and soul that was originally behind the play still flows strongly through the veins of this piece.” says Evin. “It is a piece that we are all immensely proud to show to the world and we hope Paperthin captivates everyone just as much as the original captivated us.”

Waverley Knobs Entertainment has now officially launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help raise funds to submit the piece to national and international film festivals such as Tribeca, Cannes, and many more. The Kickstarter will also help market the film and gain big screen distribution in order to showcase the great work of Boston, Massachusetts residents.
