The Munkie Revolution is a comic book by my friend Jeremy, and I'm trying to help him out promoting it and getting ideas on how to do a campaign better. Any ideas, thoughts, and criticism is welcomed!
Monkies with guns is terrifying thought. I like the storyline and your video. One major trend i've noticed is that successful campaigns tend to raise 30-40% of the funds minimum in the first week, which helps generate momentum.
Networking is by far the hardest for us. Trying to tap into our friend's-friend's-friend's is difficult for us (we tend to be closet-shy- non-confrontational folks) so just trying to make an honest pitch that doesn't come off impersonal and awkward is tough. We're still trying to figure out how to advertise on the cheap end of the dollar.
Right now we are tying to see if facebook's 'boost' option does us any good, same with the business-twitter options; right now it seems that the facebook's boost give us more push than twitter's verison.
Currently we have hit a slowdown with pledges; we did great the first two days, and now things have slowed to a crawl. Trying to drum up momentum on the various forums and setting up weekly incentives/rewards.
