People are pretty savvy overall, but, nonetheless, some simple tricks seem to work when studied with large enough samples of customers. $19.95 is better than $20.00 -- the word FREE has an implact. So seeing FREE SHIPPING I think has a little value. It can get tough with the margins to keep it simple when there are domestic and international customers, so that needs to be taken into account.
In my campaign (below) I have added international shipping and the domestic is built in. But... beyond a certain price point, shipping is free for everyone.
