Hi - I'm new to Kickstarter and just launched a project with a friend and colleague of mine. I'd love to get advice on how to promote and share the campaign when there isn't much of a social network already in place. Any suggestions?

I'd also like to learn as much as I can so when I launch my next campaign, for a personal art project, I will know the ropes.
I'm glad to have found this forum and would love to support others' projects as best I can.

My suggestion is that find other artists, or organizations and call them up. Talk to them about the project. If they can donate awesome, if not ask them to spread the word or if they know of anyone that may find the project interesting. Also a lot of grass roots, art blogs, and independent underground columns would probably be good places to message or call. Emailing is good but that can get lost in a mailbox. I vote for calling and being polite.

That is a fascinating project! I imagine news outlets, locally, would be interested!
