    Is PR Serve Scamming Us?

    by eloisecrowdfunds » Sat Jan 06, 2018 9:07 pm

PR serve is promising us a full performance basis for our crowdfunding project. But I don't understand how they can say that considering they are asking for an upfront payment. They say they are 100% performance based, but then ask for an upfront fee so it's kind of dishonest. It's got to be a scam then. They should be working without an upfront fee if it is truly performance based, only explanation as to why they charge this is because they plan to receive our payment and just ghost us. Beware: http://www.prserve.com. If they were upfront about the fee and not claiming to be 100% performance based then I would be more comfortable, but the mis marketing makes me uneasy.

Yes you must be right. There is no way to guarantee they won't steal.

If I were you, I would beware handing over any payment upfront. All of the best companies operate on a commission basis alone. The reason for this is that there is not trust. If you just hand over payment you have no guarantee of seeing results. But when they are working on commission it makes it so that they HAVE TO WORK to get that payment. I think that even regular companies outside of crowdfunding work on that basis. We live in a digital age and an age without trust. commission is the way to go. And 100% pay for performance is just as good, because you're not handing anything over to them upfront.

Try to push them to work on performance basis only. I'd be interested to hear if they will do that, because if they will then I'll be sure to try them out with my next campaign. There is really no reason not to let someone work when you've given them anything upfront, it's risk free for the project creator as it should be.

No they are not scamming you. I think you need to do more research about how business works, or just keep trying and eventually you'll get some experience and learn how to do business properly.
