I did some digging/searching on here and haven’t found a recent thread on IR illuminators in quite a few years. I am looking for info on a good weapon mounted system. Yes, I am aware of the MAWL but wondering about other options out there. School me.

When it comes to choosing the perfect one for you, the best path to take is go out there at night and test different variations, eventually you'll come across one that suits you perfectly. It also depends on what you are planning to do with it, I suppose hunting. I don't know how, but some animals can see the light from the ir illuminator and they usually fled. As I found out later, they can see this light almost all the time in some cases when the illuminator is of poor quality it can bother and spook them.
