We are getting near ending the first 24 hrs. 1,055$ from the 7,500$ has been pledged at this point. That is a good result! I'm very happy.

About 90% of the pledges come from friends, family and ex-collagues. Mostly the latter. I'm going to continue to focus on getting the word out to new people. I've contacted indie game sites, and am running a (small: 20$) ad on Facebook. Let's see if it brings in traffic.

I'll keep you posted about the results.

Here's a couple of observations, that I will share with you.

    1. Your project page is currently listing your project as having 320 shares on Facebook. That's a decent figure for this point in your campaign cycle.

    2. You are responding to each comment,in the Comments section of your project page. Maintain that approach, since engaging people in that manner can help to build a sense of community around your project right in that comments section. It become more noticeable, as the number of comments in the comments section becomes larger. Additionally, as you reply to the backers who leave comments in that section, consider also including a question for the backer to whom you are responding, or even to backers and people who are not backers but who might be reading the comments. Why? Because, asking questions invites responses, and you always want dialogue about your project to continue and to grow.

Also, people not seeing that victory dance will net your project nothing. You always want to grow interest, either in the project, itself, or in the personal aspect of your project page - so that people can connect with the personal aspect, even if they don't connect with the project.

Post the victory dance. You didn't make it for your wife, after all.

Thanks, Charles. I especially like your suggestion to ask questions to commenters in order to start a dialogue.

The victory dance was actually a joke ^^. Although, I am going to record a new dance to our new music track.

You seem to have a habit of listening, so I went ahead and backed your project, to bring it to an even forty backers. This elevates me to the lofty position of nail fungus, apparently.

Your Kicktraq data is looking pretty decent, at this point in time. You're project is currently #5 on this list:

Ah, fantastic, so it was you who commented :-) Thanks a lot for the support on different levels! I saw the position at Kicktraq. Excellent. I hope we can get a bit more visible at the Kickstarter page itself.

FYI: The Facebook ad ($20) is finished. Results: 5.434 people reached, 94 likes, 41 clicks on the ad. I think half of them were friends that would have liked and clicked if it wasn't an ad either.

Most of the backers are still friends, and according to the Kickstarter dashboard about 30% are referred by Facebook. I might have gotten 1, maybe 2 pledges from the Facebook ad. Or maybe none. No way to know for sure.

10 days have passed, 20 days to go.

At this point we have 45% of our goal ($3,378 of $7,500), which worries me a bit. It's a nice result, but most of the money comes from family and friends, which already have pledged. So we need to find new people. And that is not easy.

Our chocolate anuses contest didn't convince new backers. I even got a few messages of people who didn't like it, or who even were a bit offended.
    I still think it's funny.

Time to sit down and do a bit of thinking, this weekend.

I'll keep you up to date.

    *EDIT*

    PS:
I've also sent a message to 50 successful ex-Kickstarter video game campaign starters, just as a test. Most did't respond. Some sent a mail wishing success, which is very friendly and always is a nice motivator, but I don't think any of them backed. I didn't really expect that anyway.

I also contacted about 110 journalists and online gaming magazines/blogs. 3 of those published an article, which is about the rate most indie developers get, if they don't have a demo yet. It's very difficult to reach out to journalists, if you don't know them personally. They get some many requests per day.
