I just want to bump this up. Its heartbreaking to see people who contacted me and lose their money to marketing "agencies" who charged thousands of dollars and delivered nothing..

Thank you for starting this thread. I know how expensive ads became. Sometimes they are just not effective enough, and you need to pay again and again to attract a new audience. When my brother has just started his project, he didn’t do any marketing research. He paid for the TV ads, and it was a waste of money. My brother paid a lot for those ads, and the price is even higher in the evening air time. He almost lost his business because he didn’t plan his budget and invest everything into TV ads. Luckily, he won some money on w88 and could invest them into his business. Otherwise, he probably had to borrow from family and friends or apply for a bank loan.

I agree that you will save money by targeting your immediate fanbase. Growing it through word of mouth and giving them ROI by liking and following is good too. Sometimes you'll get a bite from cold advertising if you target it properly.

We tried Pinterest, Facebook, Youtube and Google. So far, Google text ads seem to be the cheapest CPC.

I sometimes regulate my ads to different audiences and form a team of different groups of people to promote my work if they are fans themselves.

Basically, you need to figure out the user portrait of your crowdfunding project.
Then select the right keywords, locations and etc.
