I am very much excited by reading this post on how to save money on ads... Learnt valuable stuff over posts here. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

You guys recommend to create a fan base. But how can you do that without spending money?.. I am using fb to catch a mailing list but it is getting expensive over time..

So the question here is how to collect emails (aka a Fan Base connected with newsletters) without spending?

It's pretty hard, as I'd otherwise say setup a competition but you'd have to give away a prize, which would cost you money.

How about using something like Twitter, where you can narrow down your audience by location and then contact them directly and ask what they think about your product > then ask if they can signup if interested.

It's pretty long-winded but if you were to focus on say x50 interested backers this way, it'll help the campaign.

Otherwise, you'd need to look at your own fan base of family + friends, then get their emails and ask them to support you offline and online (probably via social media mentions).
