ControversialI think that the VIP status is an excellent idea for driving traffic through the forum and it will be great to be pinned on the side of the forum in 'Projects we Support' - however, as more and more people hit VIP status there will increasingly be a queue for that privilege.
There are 3 projects at the moment:-
Franken Edison Light - links to Tyni Wallets (Note to Sal)
Ma'mitons Fashion $4316 of a $50.000 goal
Adoption Centre for Guide Dog Billy $169 of a $26.000
I am not commenting on the quality of these project, but Ma'mitons is 45 days in length - is that slot going to be taken for 45 days by a project that doesn't reach 10% of target?
Guide Dog Billy hasn't reached 1% in 27 days - does that warrant taking up prime promotion space?
Maybe Sal neds to re-think the strategy here?
Every project gets an initial 7 day push - then the space is re-allocated - then maybe they get a push for the final 3 days of a project?
We have all heard about the kickstarter plateau in the middle of a project - so maybe push at start and end is the way to go?
And maybe the same should happen in the forum's - if this promotion continues to be successful the first page of the forum will be just pinned threads and that is a shame for those that actually trying to share the high and lows by writing blogs (i.e ME
)
Just a thought,
Andy
