I'm a dude and I have a 3D printed jewelry project. I'm not sure if you'd call it a "girl's project", but it is considered girls fashion, only because women are the main ones that wear jewelry. You can be the judge of that.

A tip I can give you is to target your audience - females. The majority of kickstarter is male (somewhere around 70-80%), so my suggestion is to target women specifically through other sites like Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram (and forums!) where the users are mostly female.

Thank you Mocci! That's like what I was planed too, target girls outside of kickstarter site, I built 3000 followers on my page, but so far I haven't see any of those followers back my project, and in fact, all my backers are my friends...so I wonder is my project missing something or what...

All the backers on my project have been friends as well.

It is a bit discouraging that Kickstarter is so male oriented that it is hard to launch a fashion product. Which is fine because there is probably more demand than we think.

I bet I could sell more can-openers to guys on Kickstarter than jewelry... Oh well have to keep trying.

Hey, I'm a girl. :) I think it's interesting that you chose to go the KS route for your venture. Because, usually, fashion/jewelry types set up online stores immediately. But, all the best! I think that you need to drive your current backers to share and get other people to back. :D Cos, KS is all about community anyways. :D

Hope to see a happy update in the next month!

Thank you Noveleys! I will post a new update in next few days, i don't feel comfortable being sad too..and I have set up an online store, but really the online retail is really hard to promote, I was promoting the shop on Facebook for about a month but didn't sell anything. that's really frustrating

Hey you guys are a wonderful help! I guess I realized most fashion businesses start up an online store right away, but since mine is technology focused too I didn't think to go that route immediately. Ah well, there is always something new to learn.

ElliaWang, don't feel bad at all! Just know that every great success in mankind has its "failures" before it.

Thomas Edison didn't fail as he was developing the light bulb. He just found 1,000 ways how to NOT invent the lightbulb. With his knowledge of how to not proceed, through persistence he was able to finally complete his goal. Imagine if he gave up at some point?

There is always a way, and if not don't be ahead to walk onto a different path.
