I heard about it from an entrepreneur friend who had designed a new lamp and ran a Kickstarter to fund it. I respect people who go out on a limb to crowdfund.

I think I first heard about Kickstarter when one of my heroes, Hal Hartley, was campaigning for a feature film. I never thought I would ever have to go through the same procedure, to be honest, or that I would even have the patience for it, but life is full of surprises.

I heard about Kickstarter when I saw this Pebble watch back then. I think it was an awesome product back then. Since then I was a backer, supporter, creator and a big fan of Kickstarter. I'm also a huge fans of the concept of crowdfunding.

Kickstarter is well known in the programming sector. I have a lot of colleagues that tryed luck with the platform and I would say that is not easy to succeed here.

2 years ago when I have an idea to work on, I search "crowdfunding" and google give me the answer: Kickstarter
