Hi everyone! This is my first post. I just started my first Kickstarter. I learned about Kickstarter by just doing research and trying to find a way to get my projects up and running. I've been sewing for 16 years and decided to combine my love of creating with my love of tabletop gaming. The Kickstarter will fund my latest project, which is an embroidered dice bag and dice set. However, my longterm goal is that we own a commercial property and I want to open this as a game store! Would love to connect with other tabletop game fans and network so that in the future when I can open my store, I can supply their games! Below is the link to my project if anyone is interested to look, I am open to any suggestions to make it better (I know it is pretty basic right now). I have added an "about us" section on there so backers can get to know who it is that they are funding, do you think that is a good idea? -geekdonuts ashli
I was following blogs like MakeUseOf, Mashable etc, and there I found some cool gadgets being promoted too much, so then I tracked it and found it on Kickstarter.com. Later, I learned that it is not only a smart move to sell a product to initial community users but also get pretty good press and reputation around.
I had previously tried Indiegogo and then tried Crowdfunder.co.uk and subsequently Kickstarter based on word of mouth, and based on previous fundraiser's personal experiences.
In 2014, I was reading a board game news site and stumbled upon the cat card game project on some kind of a list and was blown away that you can get projects like that funded. Ina good way, of course.
