I first heard about Kickstarter from my son, who has run several successful campaigns for the company he works for. Now I need to learn about it for myself.

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself, I wish I would have known about this forum earlier, but so be it. My name's Bruce and we have just launched our own kickstarter campaign. To answer the question, I heard of kickstarter from a friend who was doing it, but thought nothing of it at the time, and didn't even back him...and now I'm asking others to back me, and I can very closely relate with the challenge of getting friends and family on board. Anyways, rambling...

In the very short period of our campaign my eyes have opened up to the real world of kickstarter, and I'm somewhat disappointed as well as better understand the work that needs to go into it. If you're thinking about starting your own soon, message me and I'll tell you more.

Also, if you would like to see our campaign, take a look:

Hi all. I heard about kickstarter from a friend. I have several games I am working on and I have had this friend play test with me and he said I should put them on kickstarter. After reviewing the website I thought I have to do it. Started with the simplest and cheapest of my games but if successful I hope to use kickstarter several times.

    Thanks

    Nick

Be The Best - Card game anyone can enjoy with numerous editions in production. Zombie survivor and Geek being the first two sets being released on kickstarter.

I didn't even know about Kickstarter until last year. It's amazing to hear that board game designs were being funded there years ago.

I think it's very cool that you create indie films. I'll definitely check out some of work. I'm glad Kickstarter has been a helpful tool for you.

Well, I discovered ks and Igg at the beginning of this year. I am a student from Turkey. I was looking for angel investors for my project but couldn't so I just found a friend from U.S.A and started to creating my own campaign. I am believing the opportunity and potential of crowdfunding way much honest and better than classic investment type

For me, always having my head deep down an idea or invention, Kickstarter was always in my subconscious mind. Your passions lead you places in life and Kickstarter was one of these places. Drifting on Google, searching and tinkering with ideas, I was ultimately led to this wondrous place.

I learned about kickstarter years ago when I was trying to start up my own social networking site. Years later and a bit more knowledge I am contemplating starting a campaign for a new project.
